Anatomy & Physiology is a dynamic offering for a two-semester human anatomy and physiology course for life science and health students. The course is organized by body system and covers standard scope and sequence requirements. The clear text, illustrations and learning tools address the critical teaching and learning challenges in this subject. The Anatomy & Physiology course also features surgical videos, histology, and interactive diagrams and will enhance students’ understanding of concepts through clear and effective illustrations and photographs.

LEVEL: SECONDARY & HIGHER ED

Astronomy is designed to meet the requirements of one- or two-semester first year astronomy courses. The course begins with relevant scientific fundamentals and progresses through an exploration of the solar system, stars, galaxies, and cosmology. The Astronomy course builds through support from contributions from NASA on student understanding through the use of relevant analogies, clear and non-technical explanations and illustrations. Mathematics is included in a manner to meet the needs of individual teachers and learners. This Astronomy system enhances students’ understanding of concepts through clear and effective illustrations, diagrams, and/or photographs.

LEVEL: SECONDARY & HIGHER ED

Biology is designed for multi-semester biology courses for science majors. It is grounded on an evolutionary basis and includes exciting features that highlight careers in the biological sciences and everyday applications of the concepts at hand. To meet the needs of today’s instructors and students, some content has been strategically condensed while maintaining the overall scope and coverage of traditional texts for this course. Instructors can mix and match each lesson, adapting to the approach that works best in their classroom. Biology also includes an innovative art program that incorporates critical thinking and knowledge check questions to help students understand—and apply—key concepts.

LEVEL: SECONDARY & HIGHER ED

Chemistry is designed to meet the scope and sequence requirements of a two-semester general chemistry course and includes topics such as thermodynamics, advanced theories of covalent bonding and acid base equilibria. The course provides an essential opportunity for all students to learn the core concepts of chemistry and understand how those concepts apply to the world around us. The course also includes a number of innovative interactive exercises and real-world applications, designed to enhance student learning and reinforce the curriculum.

LEVEL: SECONDARY & HIGHER ED

Introductory, or “College Physics” meets standard requirements for a two-semester introductory algebra-based physics course. The course is grounded in real-world examples to help students grasp fundamental physics concepts, for example: dealing with accuracy and precision, aspects of gravity, Newton’s Law and selected radioactive isotopes. It requires knowledge of algebra and some trigonometry, but not calculus. College Physics includes learning objectives, concept questions, links to labs and simulations and practice opportunities for traditional physics problem solving.

LEVEL: SECONDARY & HIGHER ED

Concepts of Biology is designed for the typical introductory biology course covering standard sequence requirements. The course includes interesting applications and conveys the major themes of biology, with content that is clear and easy to understand. The course is designed to demonstrate biology concepts and to promote scientific literacy. The Concepts of Biology course enhances students’ understanding of concepts through clear and effective illustrations, diagrams, and photographs.

LEVEL: SECONDARY & HIGHER ED

Microbiology covers the requirements for a single-semester microbiology course. It presents the core concepts of microbiology, including Prokaryotic Diversity, Microbial Biochemistry and Mechanisms of Microbial Genetics; and additionally covers material for students considering applications for careers in this sector. The pedagogical features of this content-driven system make the material engaging and accessible anytime, anywhere while maintaining the focus and scientific rigor inherent in the subject matter.
